“The First Rare Ore and Gems Museum in
Thailand”
The museum boasts collections of
rare ore and gems in the midst of a wonderful
light and sound system as well as a special
video presentation that traces the genesis
of gems within the bowels of the earth and
follows the path they take from mine to
market set in finished jewelry.
Windows and panels simulate
volcanic eruption show the places where
diamonds are mined and also display models
of all the major crystal structures in which
gem minerals occur. Another interesting
panel that reconstructs via models shows how gemstones are
mined and what the mining site looks like. The museum also has
live exhibits showing gemstone polishing and jewelry making.
